Grammy And Grampop: Don't tell 'em, but they're the real reason we had
the wedding all the way out in Connecticut. They're the dearest people in the world;
my Grandfather and his "Tricks Of The Trade" have given me much food for thought
over the years, and my Grammy has an absolutely amazing ability; without guile or
forethought, she expects the best out of everyone and gets it every time.
From everyone. It's a feat which never ceases to amaze me. Suffice it to say
that out of everyone who was there, they really were the guests of honor. |

Since my Dad was taking most of the pictures, I don't as yet have a good
one of him but this'll do. (Mary, my stepmother, doesn't have a good shot
either but I hope as more pictures come in we'll have a chance to get some stuff up here.)
My father and I have been extremely close and one of the things we share is a love
for videogames. (We can pretty much play Ms. Pac-Man, as seen here, to a
standstill.) He also whips my butt at pool, shares a lot of my humor I got
the goofy stuff from him and let me know what the corporate life was like long
before I got into it. I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with him at the
wedding as I would have liked because a) he was the main photographer and b) he had to
leave early, but my Dad's one of the most caring men I know. Heck, he takes care of
two kids as if they were his own in the "Big Brother" program, so give him a
hand, wouljda?
Mary, you get your separate page when I get a picture. Mary's my stepmom and I
love her to death. |

These are the Bouchers, but they're really Steinmetzes. They just
don't know it yet. My Aunt Peggy and Uncle Billy (right-hand side) are former
sixties children turned Republican but aside from that (g), they're the marriage I
want to have. Still full of life after so much time together, still very much in
love and active as all heck. Can't you see it here? They've been married since I was
a youngster, back in the sixties when it really was not cool to get hitched, and Billy
takes great pride in the fact that he attended my second birthday party even though
he continually says it was my first. They also are the most energetic dancers I've
ever seen. Suzi and Josh on the left just got married a month before I did and if
Peggy and Billy are the marriage I wanted, then Josh and Suzi had the wedding that I
wanted. They were relaxed, looked extremely in love, and then went out for a night
with their friends afterwards... and I felt honored to go out with 'em. They seem
like a great couple Suzi's the kid of P&B, and Josh is the marryee with a
Boston accent that could cut fog and a smile that just makes you want to smile with 'em.
(Fortunately, my wedding did turn out as well as theirs, if not better.)
I know they're gonna shine.
Unfortunately, my other cousin Nicole wasn't here, but that's her in the yellow dress
there on the left at Suzi's wedding. Hopefully she's reading this again and
realizing she still was missed. |

Aunt Laney and Uncle Billy are Steinmetzes, and have been married for
almost twenty years. Every summer we'd go over to their house for our summertime
birthday parties we had so many, we had to share and it always felt just
like home to me because they're just good folk. (It sounds lame, but I can wield no
higher compliment.) Laney had to put up with an awful lot of crap from Peggy when
she came onboard to the family I'm kind of joking here but her eternal good
nature shone through and now she's one of us forever. God bless 'em both. |

Jodi is my cousin, the daughter of Billy and Laney. (Yes, there are
three Bills in the family why do you think I prefer Ferrett?) She's the other
webgeek in the family, and I think far more sarcastic than me in her own way. And
that is also a compliment. If Jodi's the other webgeek in the family, then
Kelly is the other writer. (You can see my stuff at my home page, theferrett.com.) She's a reporter covering the
beat in Massachusetts and really gets off on the sheer power of information she wields.
Not to mention that she gets to ride on trucks and the like for no apparent reason.
However, for all of her writing nobody managed to get a good picture of her,
although you can see some of it in the Dork Files. |

This is my cousin Jimmy, also of Laney and Billy, with my grandparents.
Jimmy's very quiet and I haven't gotten to talk to him as much as I'd like, but I
do know he's probably living a lot of the life that I did when I grew up. (I'll just
trail off there and leave the rest to your imaginations.) Unfortunately, now that
I'm married and not having any more kids, it falls to Jimmy to carry on the Steinmetz
name. I mentioned this to him twice. He suddered obligingly each time.
Hee! |
