Technically, this is only "The Ferrett's" Mother and Son Dance.
If Gin joined it, it woula been kinda creepy. We danced to "You Are The
Sunshine Of My Life" a jazzier tune than most M&S dances, but a great
choice on my mother's part. The really amusing part was when Gail, who had been
in charge of videotaping the ceremony for Erin and Amy (my stepdaughters now, remember?),
stepped out for a cigarette during the dance and we had to do it again an hour later.
I've heard of Civil War reenactments, but the Mother/Son reenactment was just
goofy. We kept cracking up. I suppose that's good, though, as we at least
looked happy. And we were. |

My Mom once had a big talk with me when I was 25 and still living at the
house she was in tears because, basically, she was convinced that I was never going
to grow up. I still lived at home, I still worked retail, I paid all of my bills
late... and I don't think she ever realized what was gonna happen to me. (Hell, I
didn't.) Hey, Mom I'm all grown up. Family, corporate job, married
man, my own apartment, respectable citizen. Relax! Well, maybe not respectable
citizen. I'd like to stay a little sleazy. |
