DanceMomAndSon3.jpg (7367 bytes) Technically, this is only "The Ferrett's" Mother and Son Dance.   If Gin joined it, it woula been kinda creepy.  We danced to "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" — a jazzier tune than most M&S dances, but a great choice on my mother's part. 

The really amusing part was when Gail, who had been in charge of videotaping the ceremony for Erin and Amy (my stepdaughters now, remember?), stepped out for a cigarette during the dance and we had to do it again an hour later.   I've heard of Civil War reenactments, but the Mother/Son reenactment was just goofy.  We kept cracking up.  I suppose that's good, though, as we at least looked happy.  And we were.

DanceMomAndSon2.jpg (7812 bytes) My Mom once had a big talk with me when I was 25 and still living at the house — she was in tears because, basically, she was convinced that I was never going to grow up.  I still lived at home, I still worked retail, I paid all of my bills late... and I don't think she ever realized what was gonna happen to me.  (Hell, I didn't.)  Hey, Mom — I'm all grown up.  Family, corporate job, married man, my own apartment, respectable citizen.  Relax!

Well, maybe not respectable citizen.  I'd like to stay a little sleazy.
