WeddingCake2.jpg (14030 bytes) The wedding cake was a chocolate-on-chocolate confection, with little Luke and Leia figurines on top.  Two items of note regarding the cake:

1)  We were kinda secretly disappointed that nobody noticed it was Luke and Leia, an incestuous pairing, not Han and Leia as happened at the end of Return Of The Jedi.   The reason?  One of the first things that Gin and I ever agreed on when we first met on-line was that Luke turning out to be Leia's brother was the stupidest plot tie-up in all of Star Wars.  Therefore, we refuse to believe it happened.  Thus setting a trend in reality displacement we hope will last a lifetime.

2)  Despite the fact that I actually had one — they're very hard to come by — Gin refused to let me put the "Slave Leia" metal bikini version on the cake.  And I even tried to bribe the Long Ridge Tavern waiters, to no avail....

CakeLightsaberDuel.jpg (12918 bytes) Realizing that we both had cutting implements, Gin and I decided to have a little duel over the cake.  Alas, this is a dorky picture, but it's all we really have of it.  But what the heck.  We enjoyed it.

Until she sliced off my right hand and asked me to join her to dominate the universe....

CakeFerrettFeedsGin.jpg (10935 bytes) Before the actual event, I had a spirited discussion with Bari, Jim, and Thom regarding the divorce rate of cake-mushers.  We decided that if both mushed the cake, it indicated a certain playfulness.  If neither, a respect for each other.   But we bet the one-sided surprise mushers had a divorce rate through the freakin' roof.   It has to engender a resentment that really doesn't go away.

Since I didn't really trust Gin, I went first.  I didn't mush.  Mesa good boy.

CakeGinFeedsFerrett.jpg (16559 bytes) ...she didn't mush me, either.  We're set.

I can't decide whether I am: a) trying to give Gin erotic shudders by sucking on her fingers, b) hoggishly sucking up the sucrose (it was goood cake), or c) forgetting that Gin is, in fact, not a plate of spaghetti and trying to slurp her into my mouth.  In any case, it's kind of a weird shot.

CakeKiss.jpg (9191 bytes) I don't know why this is in black and white, but it lends a certain classicality to the moment, no?
